Kawoq Forest is located about 20 minutes uphill on foot from our usual meeting point at Circles Café in San Marcos La Laguna. We are situated in a peaceful mountain valley, approximately 25–30 minutes from the lakefront.

We offer a free escorted group walk every day at 1:00 PM from Circles Café when we are expecting arrivals. Please send us a message via WhatsApp upon your arrival to the café, and confirm the day before that you plan to join the walk.

If you arrive after 1:00 PM, we can still provide an escort service for $10 USD. This is not a transportation service, the escort will walk with you to Kawoq Forest.

We also offer porter services (bag-carrying assistance). Please note this is not a vehicle service, porters are local people who will help carry your luggage on the walk.

This fee will be added to your final bill or can be selected during the reservation process.

Lastly, we recommend arriving with a comfortable backpack, a headlamp, and a spirit of adventure.

Check-in time for cabañas is from 1:00 PM, and check-out time is at 11:00 AM. This schedule allows us to clean and prepare the space for your arrival and for incoming guests.

If you would like to stay on the property after check-out, we offer a secure place to store your bags in our office, and you are welcome to enjoy a smoothie or snack at our café while taking in the stunning view.

To ensure a smooth arrival and for safety reasons, we kindly ask that you do not arrive at Kawoq Forest on your own. Instead, please join our daily escorted walk at 1:00 PM from Circles Café.

Late arrivals: The latest time to arrive at Circles Café is 4:30 PM, and latest check-in at Kawoq Forest reception is by 5:00 PM. Please plan your travel accordingly.

Your first included experience will be a Restorative Yoga session at 3:00 PM, followed by dinner at 5:00 PM.

On your departure day, your stay includes a 7:30 AM meditation and yoga session, followed by breakfast at 10:00 AM, and final check-out by 11:00 AM.

Please note that this is not a transportation or escort service—our team will accompany you on foot to Kawoq Forest during the daily group walk.

Guests must arrive in San Marcos La Laguna no later than 4:30 PM in order to complete check-in by 5:00 PM. If you arrive after this time, you will need to spend the night in town and join the 1:00 PM guided walk from Circles Café the following day. Please contact us via WhatsApp at +502 3301 1835 to let us know you arrived late, so we can coordinate accordingly.

If you miss the 1:00 PM group walk due to circumstances beyond your control, such as medical emergencies or safety concerns, we may be able to extend your reservation by one additional night free of charge, depending on availability. If extending your stay is not possible, we can offer a 50% refund for the first missed night. Please contact us to confirm whether this policy is still active at the time of your booking.

We offer an escorted walk back to town upon departure, available for a fee. This is not a transportation service — one of our team members will walk with you from Kawoq Forest to San Marcos La Laguna.

Please contact us in advance to coordinate the time and confirm availability. Escort services are offered to ensure your safety on the trail and must be scheduled ahead of time.

We offer free internet access for our guests. Please note that the Wi-Fi signal is only available in the reception and dining areas, and does not reach the cabins or sleeping areas. We encourage you to enjoy the digital disconnection as part of the Kawoq Forest experience.

We recommend bringing layers of clothing to accommodate the changing temperatures between day and night. All bedding is provided, and each room includes one towel, one robe, and one face cloth for your personal use.

Our showers are now equipped with eco-friendly shampoo, body gel, and conditioner, so you don’t need to bring your own unless you prefer to.

A natural insect repellent is always helpful, and a headlamp is essential for moving around the property at night. Yoga mats and props are provided.

For your hydration, we offer Ecofiltros with double-filtered drinking water throughout the space.

To confirm your reservation, we require payment prior to your arrival at Kawoq Forest.

If you wish to extend your stay or pay for additional services on site, we accept VISA and MasterCard (credit or debit).
Please note that we do not accept American Express at this time.

Inclusive rates include two daily yoga classes, two vegetarian meals, and weekly use of the sauna, available for guests every Wednesday at 6:15 PM.

For cancellations to Personal Yoga Retreat reservations;

90+ days notice; Kawoq offers a 90% refund

31-90 days notice; Kawoq offers a 65% refund

Between 30 and 7 days prior to arrival; Kawoq policy offers a 40% refund

Less than 7 days notice of cancellation, there is no refund

Wellness Services: After wellness service bookings, if you choose to cancel the wellness service more than 24 hrs before, you will be billed 50% of the wellness service rate and last minute cancellations less than 24 hrs before, will be charged 100%.

Amendments to Personal Yoga Retreats;

If you shorten the length of your visit during your stay with us; Kawoq policy offers a 50% discount on the difference between original and final rates.

If you change your dates, we offer one complimentary change. The second date change we charge a $50 admin fee.

Retreat Group Bookings;

All initial deposits are non-refundable. Your deposit can be applied to a later date (within 18 months) if cancellation is more than >60 days of your retreat start date.

A retreat booking may be canceled precisely at the 60 day mark without any penalties other than initial deposit will be forfeited.

Retreat bookings canceled between 60 and 31 days notice will forfeit the original venue hire deposit. Further payments made will be credited for future retreat use (to be used within 18 months).

For cancellation within 30 days of retreat start date, all payments will be forfeit and no longer credited to future use.

Kawoq Forest is a sustainable living experience. Composting bathrooms, outdoor showers and naturally built cabañas. There are no private bathrooms anywhere on the property.

There are spiders and scorpions in the forest. It is a forest, there are other creatures too of course. But it is always good to know. Mosquitoes are not a problem, but there are small coffee flies that can be bothersome during the early dry season. Bring some natural insect repellent or wear long pants and long sleeves.
